A general AI assistant for drafting, summarising and working through long documents. A data processing agreement comes with the Team and Enterprise plans.
Good for
- Working through a long document, such as a policy, contract or referral pack
- First drafts of bids, reports and letters
- Rewording something into plainer English or an easy-read structure
- Talking through a decision and having its reasoning laid out step by step
Watch out for
- On personal plans, whether your chats train future models is a setting someone picked at sign-up. Check it before you trust it, and treat those accounts as public either way.
- The certifications only cover Team, Enterprise and the API. Free, Pro and Max do not appear in Anthropic's own scope table at all.
- Anthropic does not publish where data is held and offers no UK data residency option. If your commissioners or your DSPT return ask, you may not be able to answer.
- Thumbs up and thumbs down feedback can still be used for training, even on commercial plans, until an owner turns off the "Rate chats" setting.
- It states wrong facts confidently, including about regulation. Check anything you would not already know to be true.
